To showcase your light, you’re going to put a spotlight on what it means to Live In God’s Holy Truth. “When Jesus spoke again to the people, He said, ‘I am the light of the world. Whoever follows Me will never walk in darkness, but will have the light of life.’” — John 8:12

You will have dark days. Days when a friend breaks your trust. Some days when you feel weighed down by negative thoughts or circumstances. Days when everything seems to go wrong.

But there is good news.

Showcase Your Light and Change Everything

God as the Creator of the world established truth, and living in His truth will shine the light on your darkness.

He’s brighter than anything and stronger than every dark thing you face. If you follow Him, you’ll have the light of life. This requires you to read His Word and know the truths provided in it. You can’t showcase your light if you don’t know what the light looks like. Once you know, you’ll be amazed at the difference it makes.

Maybe the Holy Spirit gives you words to say to a friend to encourage them with truth. He might lead you to a safe place to go when you’re feeling scared or uncertain. Maybe it’s a surprise—a thank you from someone whose life you changed, a favorite meal offered in return for a good deed done, or being asked to share your personal walk with a small group.

Sometimes God shows you the way out of a bad place and into a better one. He wants you to spend each day knowing how to showcase your light.

showcase your light by turning on the light bulb of truth

Try this: Walk into a dark room. Now turn on the light. Feel the change? That’s what following the truths Jesus shared can do inside of you.

Showcase Your Light and Defeat Darkness

“The night is nearly over; the day is almost here. So let us put aside the deeds of darkness and put on the armor of light.” — Romans 13:12

Neuroscientist Dr. Caroline Leaf says every morning you wake up with new brain cells. They’re ready to help you build better thoughts. This aligns with what God says in His Word, “The steadfast love of the LORD never ceases; his mercies never come to an end; they are new every morning; great is your faithfulness.” — Lamentations 3:22.

That means today is a new chance. You can replace hurtful thoughts with hopeful ones. You can push away dark thinking and fill your mind with truth.

Showcasing Your Light Starts with Truth

Start your day by reading or writing five (5) true things about yourself and your life. Don’t start with the news or social media. Don’t wait for someone to speak lies into your day. Begin with the truth. Get dressed with the armor of God, so you’re ready to fight against the attacks of the enemy.

Write your list. Here’s a starter:
