We often chase the big moments. Milestones, achievements, and applause. It’s a natural desire to be noticed and appreciated. But real love shows up in the quiet. In the every day. The unseen. The repetitive. There’s value in the mundane that often gets overlooked. Folding laundry, washing dishes, making coffee for someone else can all be sacred. When done with love, the ordinary becomes holy.

Folding Laundry and Loving Jesus

Mark never imagined folding laundry could be holy. But one day, as he prayed over his kids’ clothes, he began to see things differently. Each shirt belonged to a child he loved. Each sock had warmed their little feet. He realized love isn’t just in the big events. It’s in the small, unseen moments. We think value has to be visible, measurable, or impressive. But some of the most loving acts go unnoticed by everyone except God.

Every Chore Has a Heartbeat and Value

find value in the mundane, do all you do for the glory of God

Making dinner, doing dishes, refilling the toilet paper roll—none of it seems glamorous. But every mundane task done with love becomes a ministry. Jesus turned water into wine at a wedding. A regular day, a normal celebration. But He made it extraordinary. When we invite God into the ordinary, everything changes. We begin to see how every act of service becomes a sacred offering. With our focus on that perspective, we can live out value everyday in the simplest of things.

What the Bible Says about Value in the Mundane

“Whatever you do, do it all for the glory of God.” – 1 Corinthians 10:31 (NIV)

Whether it’s sweeping the floor or running a meeting, love gives value to the task.

Sometimes, It’s the Simple Things

This week, don’t despise the mundane. Embrace it. Invite God into it. Let love live there, right where you are. Because sometimes the holiest ground is your kitchen floor.
