When Time Stands Still

worship in the waiting

Fall often marks a return to routine—school schedules, early bedtimes, packed calendars. But sometimes, even in seasons of high activity, our hearts feel stuck. We have difficulty coming to a place of worship amid the busyness.

Have you ever found yourself waiting on God? Waiting for clarity. For provision. For healing. For purpose. For hope.

It’s in these in-between spaces that WORSHIP—When Our Relationship Serves Him In Praise takes on new depth. Worship isn’t reserved for mountaintops. It’s made for the valleys and plateaus, too. Especially the places where we feel like time is standing still.

What the Waiting Reveals

I remember a time when every door I knocked on seemed to stay shut. No new opportunities. No open pathways. Just silence.

At first, I begged God for movement. Then I questioned why He wasn’t acting. But over time, I started to shift my focus—not to what He hadn’t done, but to what He was doing.

The waiting wasn’t punishment. It was preparation. And it was the perfect place for worship to rise.

Psalm 130:5 says:

“I wait for the Lord, my whole being waits, and in His word I put my hope.”

That verse doesn’t sound passive, but expectant. Hopeful. Anchored.

Worship Isn’t Just a Song—It’s Surrender

Worship in the waiting isn’t about fake smiles or manufactured joy. It’s about posture. When we lift our eyes to God—especially in uncertainty—we acknowledge who He is regardless of what He does.

You can worship Him when prayers feel unanswered.
You can worship Him in the tension of “not yet.”
You can worship Him even when your heart aches.

When you do, you begin to release control and surrender expectations. And that’s the most sacred kind of praise.

From Stillness to Strength

When Jesus was in the wilderness, He didn’t rush out of it. He worshiped through it. He responded to the enemy’s lies with truth and trusted the Father’s timing.

We’re invited to do the same.

Even if your voice shakes. Even if it’s quiet. Your worship in the waiting is a fragrance to the Lord.

Your Worship Is Working

You may not see the fruit of this season yet, but the roots are growing deep. If you’re in a waiting place right now, don’t despise it. Don’t rush through it. Worship through it.

Invite God into the ache. Lay down your timeline. And lift up a hallelujah that says, “Even here, I trust You.”
