In a world that often measures success through tangible achievements and material wealth, many people seek a deeper sense of purpose and fulfillment. For Christians, this pursuit of success is often intertwined with a commitment to their faith. The concept of being “fixed on Christ until success” reflects a journey where one’s focus remains steadfast on Jesus Christ, guiding and sustaining them through their endeavors. This approach not only transforms the way one defines success but also infuses their pursuits with spiritual significance and divine purpose.
Practical Ways to Stay Fixed on Christ

Daily Devotion
Begin each day with prayer and scripture reading to align your mind and heart with God’s desires for you. Daily devotion helps maintain a Christ-centered perspective and equips you with spiritual strength for your tasks. (“I can do ALL things through Christ who gives me strength.” Phil. 4:13)
Seek Guidance Through Prayer
Regularly seek God’s guidance and wisdom in your pursuits. Prayer invites direction from above and helps ensure your goals and actions reflect God’s purpose. “Don’t worry about anything; instead, pray about everything. Tell God what you need, and thank him for all he has done. Then you will experience God’s peace, which exceeds anything we can understand. His peace will guard your hearts and minds as you live in Christ Jesus.” (Phil. 4:6-7; NLT)
Fixed on Christ with Your Goals
Frame your goals in a way that reflects your Christian values. Consider how your ambitions align with Biblical teachings and how they can contribute to serving others and glorifying God. If your goals don’t align with God’s truth, you might need to change the focus of those goals. The purpose of prayer is NOT to get our will in Heaven, but to achieve God’s will on earth.
It’s like being in a boat out on the water. You cast your rope toward the dock and secure it, then pull. But you’re not pulling the dock to you; you’re guiding your boat to the dock. The same goes for God. The more we align ourselves with Him, the more often our prayers are answered with, “Yes.”

Practice Gratitude
Cultivate a spirit of thankfulness for the opportunities and successes you experience. Recognizing that all achievements are gifts from God helps maintain humility and perspective. Remember, God Rewards All Thoughts In Total Unity Directed Effectively. When you demonstrate gratitude for what you’ve been given, you’re intentionally focusing your thoughts on thankfulness, and not entitlement. That humility will take you much further.

Stay Accountable
Surround yourself with a community of believers who can offer support, encouragement, and accountability. Fellowship with others can provide spiritual insights and help you stay committed to your faith-based goals. We are created for fellowship. “It’s better to have a partner than go it alone. Share the work, share the wealth, and if one falls down, the other helps, but if there’s no one there to help? That’s much harder!” (Eccl. 4:9-10; MSG)
Reflect on Your Motives
Regularly assess why you pursue certain goals and whether they align with your commitment to Christ. It’s easy to get distracted by the shiny objects and the temporary pleasure you might receive from reaching a certain goal, but God looks at your heart. If motives are selfish or not honoring to God, danger is lurking just around the corner. Ensuring your motives are pure and aligned with God’s will helps maintain integrity and focus, so you can be fixed on Christ.
