Psalm 91:4 (ESV)
He will cover you with his pinions,
and under his wings you will find refuge;
his faithfulness is a shield and buckler.
I can’t think of a better place to be than standing in the freedom beneath God’s wings. There we are loved, healed, protected, and eternally treasured.
I imagine an eagle shielding her eaglets from danger—her sharp eyes scanning in every direction, alert to threats. She never stops teaching her young how to survive and make wise choices. No favoritism. Just pure, unwavering love that protects and guides.
So How Do We Live in the Freedom God Offers Under His Wings?
1. Commit our whole life to Him.
God desires 100 percent of our devotion—not just in the good times or the challenging ones, and not only the parts of our lives we’re willing to surrender. Rather, every breath we take should be under His authority. Only He can give true purpose in this life and the next.
2. Set aside time each day to grow closer to Him.
Ideally, begin each morning in His presence. Pray. Praise. Meditate on Scripture. Listen for His voice. Also, journaling or writing our thoughts and prayers can help us focus.
What matters most is being intentional—free of distraction.
Just as we’d invest time getting to know a new friend, we ask questions, seek understanding, and go deeper with God. Knowing and growing in our relationship with our heavenly Father.
3. Invest in others.
Pour love into the unlovable. Give without expecting anything in return. Volunteer. Mentor. Disciple. And pray for those who God places on your heart. Loving others is one of the purest ways to live in God’s freedom.
4. Use your time and talents for His glory.
True generosity isn’t limited to financial giving. Share your abilities, your energy, and your presence in ways that reflect a life surrendered to God’s purpose. As a result, everything you do and say will glorify God.
5. Worship with others.
Commit to the freedom of corporate worship in a Bible-believing church. There, we experience God’s presence in community, celebrate His mercy, and grow in obedience through the study of His Word.
Liberty is Freedom Through Obedience
I want my life to rest under God’s sovereign will. After all, He is my Creator King, my Savior, and the Holy Spirit who guides me daily. There I am secure and protected. His freedom can’t be bought—but it can be shared.
Let Holy Freedom Ring.
